Rare ''U.S.'' Marked Winchester 3rd Model Winder 1885 Low-Wall Single Shot Fullstock Musket, #132450, .22 Short RF cal., blued 28'' round barrel, with block-blade front sight (and adjustable peep-style receiver sight), is marked with maker's name, address, and 1879 patent date on left side, and ''22 Short'' at breech; blued ''Thinside'' receiver (scarce in this Low-Wall variant) with serpentine operating lever that opens the dropping-block action, is marked ''US/(Flaming Bomb)'' at breech, ''Trade Mark/Winchester/Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. & Fgn.'' in three lines on upper tang, and ''132450'' on lower; oil-stained walnut finger-groove forestock with blued steel barrel band having a sling swivel and blued nose cap, and matching buttstock with blued carbine style buttplate and sling swivel underneath. Mfg'd ca. 1919. Condition is fine+. Barrel, receiver and lever retain approx. 90% military blue; nose cap, barrel band and buttplate are gunmetal gray with generous traces of blue. Stocks are sound and smooth having only minor use/handling marks and lovely grain and color. Action is smooth; bore is bright with defined rifling. Est.: $700-$1,000. (C&R)
